The Togliatti Philharmonics Symphonic Orchestra was founded in 1991 with the support of Vladimir Spivakov. The Orchestra had concert tours in Porto-Heli (Greece), in the Russian cities of Ulyanovsk, Sarov, Syzran, Samara, Dubno.
Every year the Orchestra takes part in the Sheremetyev seasons in Ostankino" festival (Moscow). In the year 2003 The Togliatti Philharmonics Symphonic Orchestra performed in the Grand Holl of Moscow Conservatoire and in Moscow International House of Music. Zurab Sotkilava, Natalia Shakhovskaya, Vladimir Kraynev, Kirill Rodin, Yekaterina Mechetina, Nikolay Sachenko and many other outstanding Russian and foreign musicians, as well as the Moscow Virtuosos" Chamber Orchestra and the V. Minin Moscow Chamber Chorus have performed with the Orchestra.
We give about 50 concerts every year. Roman Matsov (Estonia, Russia), Julian Gallant (the U.K.), Espen Selvik (Norway), Aleksandr Hurgin (Russia), Patricio Viera (Ecuador), Yuriy Zudov (Russia), Mikhail Bank (Russia), Murad Kazhlayev (Russia), Fridrich Schepansky (Germany), Mark Varshavsky (Switzerland), Mikhail Snitko (Byelorussia) have contributed to our concerts as the invite-conductors.
The creator of the Togliatti Philharmonics Symphonic Orchestra, its Artistic Director and Chief Conductor is the Honoured Artist of Russian Federation Aleksey Vorontsov. Mr. Vorontsov graduated from the Moscow State Conservatoire and has worked on probation at the Estonian Academy of Music at the great conductor Roman Matsov. Master-classes for foreign conductors with the assistance of the Symphonic Orchestra are held every year in the Togliatti Philharmonics.
